Elegant dinner and dancing with a classic á la carte menu. As a result of many requests from visitors, The Victoria Falls Hotel has decided to relax aspects of the long-standing dress code in force in its premier dining venue, The Livingstone Room. This is in recognition of the fact that many travellers do not bring with them the more formal clothes that have until now been mandatory in this restaurant. Smart casual wear will now be acceptable in The Livingstone Room at dinner each evening. The fine silver-service dining experience that visitors have come to expect will continue to be the order of the day, however.
The main lounge with its old-fashioned traditional elegance and décor has a warm welcoming style, providing a perfect backdrop for relaxing with friends. The Bulawayo Room offers serenity and seclusion in surroundings of exceptional comfort and luxury, going back to the turn of the century. The hotel has two beautifully appointed curio shops, one specializing in colonial memorabilia.
The courtyard entrance to the hotel was completed in 1915 and is magnificently reflected in the lily ponds. Picturesque, with flowering shrubs, bright cottage flowers, palms and stately mango trees, the courtyard has many tranquil and shady places in which to relax.
Cool off and enjoy the splendour of the hotels glorious Edwardian swimming pool set among beautiful landscaped gardens, overlooking the famous Victoria Falls Bridge with panoramic views.
Enthusiasts can experience a selection of the area's wildlife on foot, by vehicle, in boats along the Zambezi River, on horseback - and even on an elephant. A Vintage train excursion, canoe safari, flight of the angels helicopter ride or visit to a traditional African Village all provide memorable experiences for travellers who especially want to complement the enjoyment of seeing The Victoria Falls. For the more adventurous there is white water rafting, bungee jumping and the Gorges Swing on offer!
